This June, the upcoming 107th session of the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) will take place at IMO and is expected to progress several key initiatives for the enhancement of safety on vessels. Among these is the adoption of amendments to the SOLAS Convention establishing enhanced regulations for onboard lifting appliances and anchor handling winches, new standards for ventilation of totally enclosed lifeboats and advancements in creating the International Code of Safety for Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS Code).
